About Me

AWADHESH KUMAR NEMA: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India; M.Tech in Soil & Water Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, is an agricultural engineer, author, and public servant whose work bridges science, literature, and social reform. Served as Deputy Director Agriculture, Joint Director Agriculture (I/c), and Project Director (ATMA), Government of Madhya Pradesh, he pioneered models like Khet Talab, Groundwater Augmentation, and the holistic Panch-J Model (Jan, Jal, Jamin, Janwar, Jangal), widely replicated for rural water security. He created Nema’s Simplified Hydrology and the grid sampling method for the PM Soil Health Card Scheme, adopted by multiple states. Post-retirement, he prepared the State Specific Action Plan for the Water Sector (MP) till 2050, appreciated by the Government of India. A rare technical poet, he authored Anmol Mitti Anmol Pani, Watershed Chalisa, and Bhoo-Jal Dohavali, the latter displayed in all villages of Madhya Pradesh by Jan Abhiyan Parishad. He created the documentary Balram Gram – Sushkha ka Dham (2012), modified garlic planters for System of Wheat Intensification, and proposed mandatory qualifications for agricultural input dealers — later adopted as GOI policy.
